I’m ready ya’ll!
Thanksgiving is around the corner and I can’t be any more ready. I L.O.V.E this day because this is the one day that I can eat all my favorites and not feel bad about it.
No diets, no watching what you eat, no lacking on the butter, sugar and salt!
It’s wonderful– are you ready? The only thing that I miss about Thanksgiving is all my family back in Texas and of course my lovely grandmother that is no longer with me but in memory of my Texas clan I decided to cook up one ‘slap yo momma’ Southern style Thanksgiving dinner! Now only a true Southern girl knows what I’m talking about so let me break it down for ya.
Mae Dee’s homemade cornbread stuffing (my grandmama’s recipe) — sorry not sharing
Dijon Maple- glazed spiral ham
Baked Macaroni & Cheese ( my hubby’s favorite)
Southern style Collard greens with jalapenos
Southern style yams– you know the ones…. {brown sugar, nutmeg, cinnamon, butter & or course marshmallows}
Broccoli & cheese casserole
Fresh green beans ( no green bean casserole– can’t stand it)
corn on the cob
Strawberry Cheesecake
Pecan Pie
Gina’s pear & apple cobbler
Peach Tea with of course real peaches!
Warm dinner butter rolls
I feel like I’m missing something but I think this is it!
I so can’t wait for this day– not doing a thang but eating, lounging and enjoying the fam!
How about you guys– what are your Thanksgiving plans and whatcha cooking?
